How did I get those darn wrinkles anyway?
Wrinkles. Search the web and you will find scads of articles and “cures”. Ads cleverly written to lure you into the belief that they have the holy grail of wrinkle remedies. The “one” you have been destined to find. Here’s the bad news. They all lie. There isn’t any one miracle cream to instantly and permanently rid you of those pesky tell all aging lines, wrinkles. But before you throw yourself on the ground in despair I do have some good news for you! You CAN diminish and erase wrinkles over time. It’s really just science and not abracadabra.
I won’t bore you with a lot of research and huge words that you have never heard of. However, I will give you the basics so you can see how simple this dilemma is.
As you age your skin gets thinner, dries out faster and loses elasticity. Sun damage adds to this process when UV light breaks down the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. So as the skin breaks down, it sags and the dreaded wrinkles begin to form.
What makes them really go away?
Ah, before I reveal how skincare plays a part in this I want to share with you other key elements to less wrinkles. Your diet is a key factor to the health of your skin. Skincare alone will not give you lasting results. Great skin is dependent on proper nutrients for optimal function. Your skin needs lycopene ( a good source is tomatoes) to prevent UV damage. It also needs flavonoids, polyphenols, & vitamins (found in berries). Antioxidents to fight off free radicals (like Green Tea & honey) & Probiotics (found in yogurt & kefir). My routine is that I don’t wear full make up daily so I reserve exfoliation for those days when I have extra makeup on or have used a lot of sunscreen on a beach day.
